The trip reaches a climax at Niagara (part 2)
Yes, there's a vineyard in Canada. Situated at an aptly named location: Niagara-on-the-Lake, Joseph's Estate Wines churns out award winning wines to the rest of the world in a region scarcely famous for wine. After our lunch at Planet Hollywood, we headed down to the winery for a paid tour and sampling of some of its famous wine.
Joseph's Estate Wines.
The vineyard with its rows after rows of grape, I tried one and they're SWEET, not a hint of sourness at all.
Using your bare feet to crush the grapes is a method of yore, not to mention questionable hygiene factors. I'm sure these machines will do the job just as fine, what's more, you won't get athlete feet flavoured red wines.
Used to store the freshly crushed grape juices, these huge cylindrical containers are called futs. Notice that Jean is dwarved in comparison to the futs' size.
More futs, but in an air-conditioned room this time. The wooden barrels are also futs, a more authentic approach to wine making, I was told. Jean vehemently insisted that the equipments in the winery are imported from France, hahaha! More than just a wine?
No it's not a lab, this is where the wine are finally processed, sealed and packaged into bottles and boxes.
The lady in the purple frock is the tour guide of the winery. Extremely eloquent and jovial, she kinda reminds me of my grandmother.
Wine tasting! The wine Allan's tasting is the uniquely sweet ice wine, it's given the impressive name of 'the nectar of God'.
First hand view of the fall after we finished the winery tour. It's only the tip of a magnificent natural phenomenon you guys are about to see.
