An odyssey to the west

This blog will document the entire event of my trip to Canada and its preparation work. Be warned: occasional crapping and irrelevant details about my life will also be featured in this blog.

London, Downtown (part 2)

Dear readers, I apologise for the inconvenient delay between part 1 and 2 of the London, Downtown entries as the overwhelming amount of read up I have to do for homework demanded my immediate attention. Here are the remainder of the pictures we took at London, do enjoy.

Can you believe that this majestic looking building right beside the park is an insurance company?! Damn, every building in this city has a distinct and nostalgic Victorian age look.

Plenty of churches can be found in London, and they are all magnificent architectures in their own right.

This has got to be my favourite, St Peter's Cathedral.

St Paul's Cathedral, there are numerous churches as grand as these all over London, but a limited camera memory card allows us to capture only these 3.

Jiahao, "London also got City Hall interchange ah?"
Me, "........."

These are the kinda residences Londoners live in. Every house here looks like a chateau. Wish I can bring 1 home...

Exhaustion took its toll on me after half a day's of walking around the city... On London Transit, only Allan and Jiahao are still energetic to be capable of nonsense.

London is a great place to visit. Buildings that exude nostalgic Victorian age design, friendly service staffs and plenty of shopping malls that are EMPTY during the day and WEEKENDS, it is a place where dreams come true for any die hard shoppers (you will hardly need to jostle with any crowd, and the entire city is constantly 'air conditioned' by an ambient temperature of 20ÂșC). However, a wilder if uglier side of London surfaces at night. Pubs, bars and clubs are thronged with people and there were scarcely any space to walk on the streets. It is during the night when we encountered a less than pleasant incident as we were walking back to our residence at UWO. We could distinctly hear a motorist shouting some racial slurs in our direction as he drove past the three of us. I suppose xenophobia however regrettable, takes its roots in almost any country. Sure, it does get on my nerve, and I do feel like whooping that SOB's a**, but it serves no purpose at all, except giving these xenophobics the pleasure and opportunity of staging any retalitory actions. Afterall, I'm only an exchange student/tourist for 4 short months in this country, and I don't have to face morons with the likes of that bugger all my life. Hence, I did not let this little unpleasantry work on me. In fact, it made me look forward to the trip to the Niagara Falls and Toronto next week.

Getting caught in the act is never a pleasant affair. I think I will seriously consider the sacking of Li Jiahao as this blog's veteran photographer.
