What the f**k?!
Life can be a bitter irony. It could also be a sick joke. We were praying for snow ever since we arrived in Canada, and when it finally did yesterday, the forecast read: snowsquall (read: thigh-deep snow). For the entire month of November, there was hardly any speck of snow drifting down from the clouds (I can even afford to go for a jog in the evening, you can visualize how 'cold' the weather was), and our patience was beginning to wear thin. Hence, we were mad with joy when large clumps of snow fell from the skies yesterday. Snowball fights, running around like mad, building ourselves a (minature) snowman.
Happier times spent in the snow.
Our very first snowman! It's been scaled down of course, not bad for first timers?
This picture reminded me of 'The Legend of Narnia'. Snow really brought mysticism and a fairytale surrealism to the surrounding.
Quite frankly, I welcomed the onslaught of the snow squall without any qualm. BUT, as it did so many times before, fortune has to vomit on my laps. Waking up a couple of hours ago with intense anticipation to seat for my first paper in UWO, I was smacked right across my face with an abysmal news when Allan informed us that the exams has been rescheduled due to bad weather. Hucking Fell! Hours of mugging aside, this means that my misery is extended indefinitely and my trip to Montreal, Quebec and New York may be cancelled!! If I could channel my rage to the f**king weather, I would. But how can a mere mortal duel against nature? Not that I will lose of course, just that I can't fight something I can't hit.
Then shit happened... Notice that even the bicycle stand and tables at the quad were buried in thigh-deep snow.
Thereafter, my wrath was directed at the university's adminstration. Why can't those imbeciles working at the administration postpone this wretched paper to noon instead; the weather will definitely be warmer by then (it was forecasted on the net that there will be sunshine from noon onwards). I guess the addages, "Be careful of what you wish for." & "Biting off more than you can chew." lend a whole new meaning after this unfortunate turn of event. My love hate relationship with winter has begun. But I am pretty sure that this relationship will only last for another month at most, after which I will be returning to the warm embrace of summer in Singapore. Not that I am a philandering bastard of course, I just can't continue with a relationship that has turn cold.
